This is the stake that comes standard with all our lightweight tents besides the NFT. It's a durable, anodized aluminum stake from DAC, the maker of our tent poles. Includes a hole for installing a pull loop (our Dyneema guyline works great for this).

The small size provides a decent balance between weight and holding power and work well in a variety of ground types, but they're best in medium to firm ground. 

If you want something a little bigger, check out the size M stakes. For even better holding power in soft ground, try the size L stakes. For sand and snow or anchoring our domes, we recommend the size T stakes.

These are the best tent stakes I've ever used

I've used dozens of different tent stakes over the years and these are hands-down the best. They are some of the lightest I've ever used, they are very sturdy, grip well, and are extremely tough. I've broken or bent every other stake type, but these have hundreds of nights (multiple thru hikes) and besides being scratched they are the same shape as day 1. I've pounded them in with feet, rocks, hammers, and usually push them into hard ground using the other stakes as a lever arm.

All of those 3-sided Y-shaped stakes that everyone else is selling are trash. They're too thin and bend, or break at the neck, and the 3rd side flange "for strength" gives me zero extra holding power because of its orientation. It's ridiculous that became the standard tent stake shape, they are an inferior design.

These DAC J-stakes are the most rugged and useful UL stakes on the market, period.
