2Lite
Description
The 2Lite is our lightest pole-supported tent. Its stable, non-freestanding design means the weight stays low while remaining shockingly livable, with two doors, two generous vestibules, and plenty of room for two people to sit up.
The 2Lite is built to hold up against harsh backpacking conditions without sacrificing the weight and comfort of a standard backpacking tent. The ergonomic footprint shape increases space at the torso and elbows, making the tent feel much roomier than its 28 square feet.
Short 12" pole segments come standard and allow the 2Lite to fit almost anywhere, making it ideal for bikepacking or any discipline in which packed size is an important consideration.
The optional 2Lite -> 2Lite Trek conversion kit lets you pitch the 2Lite using your trekking poles instead of the head pole for a 4oz weight savings. Pick up a footprint to prolong the lifespan of your tent's floor.

Seam Sealing Note: The seams on your 2Lite's flysheet are highly water-resistant and will handle light rain just fine without being seam sealed. However, the two seams directly beneath the tent poles and the long seam down the center of the flysheet should be seam sealed for maximum waterproofness in extended, heavy rains.
Sewn in Vietnam.

Why The 2Lite

Our Lightest Pole-Supported Tent
At 2lb 10oz, the 2Lite's non-freestanding pole structure sheds ounces without sacrificing stability — simple, sturdy, and proven in wind.

Two Doors, Two Vestibules
Two doors and large vestibules (10.5 sq ft each) mean you and your partner each get personal space.

Elbow Room For Two
The 2Lite's floor widens at the torso and tapers at the feet, making it feel roomier without adding weight.

Packs Down To Almost Nothing
Short 12" pole package means the tent disappears in your pack. Or on your bike. Or your boat.

Trekking Pole Compatible
Pair it with the 2Lite Trekking Pole conversion kit to swap your trekking poles for the front pole for an extra 4oz of savings and increased wind stability.
SlingFin 2Lite — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about weight, pitching, weatherproofing, and fit before you buy.
Is the SlingFin 2Lite a freestanding tent?
The 2Lite is non-freestanding, which allows it to provide superior strength and similar livability to freestanding tents at a lower weight.
How much does the 2Lite weigh, and what is its minimum weight?
The 2Lite’s minimum weight is 2lb 10oz. The packaged weight is 2lb 14.2oz
Can I pitch the 2Lite using trekking poles to save weight?
Yes, you can save 4oz by using the optional 2Lite Trekking Pole Conversion Kit instead of the included head pole.
Is the 2Lite suitable for bikepacking?
The 2Lite is a fantastic bikepacking tent because of its excellent packability and low weight. With our ultra-packable silnylon fly and tiny 12” pole package size, the 2Lite fits easily in a handlebar harness and the poles stash easily in a frame bag.
Do I need to seam-seal the 2Lite myself?
The 2Lite should be seam sealed if you’re expecting very rainy conditions, but you can order the tent pre-seam sealed. Just select “yes” under “Seam Sealed” and you’ll be good to go.
How does the 2Lite handle high winds compared to other ultralight tents?
The 2Lite is extremely wind resistant for such a lightweight tent because of its classic “tunnel” pole structure. To maximize the 2Lite’s wind resistance, it needs to be anchored securely, and we recommend using guylines in windy conditions and orienting the foot of the fly into the wind.
Is the 10D Sil/Sil fabric on the 2Lite durable enough for long thru-hikes?
Yep! We have had tents and tarps made with our 10D SIL/SIL nylon last for multiple 2500+ mile thru hikes.
What are the interior dimensions of the 2Lite, and can two tall hikers fit inside?
The 2lite is great for tall hikers because of its steep head and foot walls. It’s 89” long, and the width is 42"/50"/40" (head/shoulders/foot). The tapered shape saves weight while providing room around the torso, where you need it.
Why does SlingFin use Sil/PE coatings on the floor instead of Polyurethane (PU)?
Sil/PE coatings are more durable and last significantly longer than PU coatings. They don’t hydrolyze like PU (no old tent smell!) and keep their waterproofness longer. They absorb less water than PU coatings so they dry faster and have better resistance to mold.
How do I install internal guylines on the 2Lite for heavy weather?
Here’s a link to our internal guyline installation instructions: https://www.slingfin.com/blogs/the-beta/how-to-strengthen-your-tent-with-internal-guylines
How does the 2Lite manage interior condensation?
The 2Lite’s double wall design, mesh interior, and kickstand vents on the fly provide plenty of airflow to keep condensation to a minimum.
Do I need a footprint/groundsheet for the 2Lite?
Our 20D floor fabric is more durable than the floors on most ultralight tents. A footprint will extend the lifespan of your floor but is not strictly necessary. That being said, the 2Lite's floor fabric still lightweight and needs to be treated with care. We recommend scanning your tent site and removing sharp sticks, pinecones, and rocks before setting up your tent. If you don’t want to think about that or you tend to be rough on your gear, we recommend using a footprint.
