Pre-cut guylines with cord tensioners for use with all of our tents. Clam Cleat cord tensioners have good holding strength and are simple to use. Available in 96" or 144" lengths.

96" (244cm): A versatile length that can be used as an internal guyline or as an external guyline on our smaller tents.

144" (365cm): This is a longer guyline for external use. It's too long to use as an internal guyline on our smaller tents but it's ideal for most external guying purposes.

This is an extremely strong 1.5mm cord custom-braided for SlingFin. Tight-weave polyester sheath is abrasion resistant, and Dyneema™️ core provides exceptional strength to weight ratio and does not stretch when wet. Orange with reflective marker. Comes with a pre-installed clam cleat style tensioner like our OEM guylines.

This cord is also available by the foot here without the pre-installed tensioner.

Awesome!

I’ve tried both the NFT - which comes with this awesome dyneema core cord, and the SplitWing - which comes with the OEM cord mentioned in another review. The OEM cord is good, this stuff is perfect.

Super high performance. I like it even more than glowire.

Read the transparent response from SlingFin to the misguided negative review for all the useful additional information.

I’m here ordering some for my SplitWing and a spare 50’ for my pack.

Not the same as what comes with your tent

I wanted to beef up my Portal 2 for anticipated conditions by maxing out my guy lines. I liked Slingfin’s lines included with my split wing (extensive use) and my Portal 2 (just a test trip), so I was willing to pay the premium. That was a mistake.

The cord is not the same as what has been included in the past. It’s not as supple and the color doesn’t match (more orange than the original red).

Worse, whereas included guy lines include nicely tied bowlines on the adjusters, these are sloppily tied single fisherman. (That’s generous, they’re terribly dressed, whatever they were supposed to be.)

I was willing to spend money to save myself some time and have a consistent product. Slingfin failed me. For way less money and the same time I could have used the random line I already had at home with a bundle of adjusters bought from just about anywhere online.

I hope this was just a one-off sourcing mistake and an overtaxed warehouse worker and not the start of enshittification of an otherwise excellent company.

Yes, it’s a different cord, and here’s why: Our OEM cord is a polyester-core cord sourced from our factory. The aftermarket lines are a dyneema-core cord we have custom braided for us to our spec by a third party. It’s about three times as strong as the OEM cord, more abrasion resistant, absorbs less water, and has less stretch. The extra stiffness also makes cord management and knot tying/untying easier. We would actually prefer to use our aftermarket cord as our OEM cord but for various boring logistical supply chain reasons it’s not feasible, unfortunately. It’s the best cord we have access to, and as a performance-focused company, we opted to offer it as the aftermarket guyline because it’s better, even if it’s a slightly different shade of orange. As for the knot, we hand tie our aftermarket guylines ourselves (not at the factory) in between answering emails, designing new tents, and doing our own repairs. We use a single fisherman’s knot because it’s quick, reliable, and totally bombproof in this application. Offering a weaker cord so the color matches is something an enshittified company would do, and that’s just not who we are. We’re sorry our guylines do not align with your aesthetic preferences, but we have always put function first and will continue to do so, even if it means the colors don’t quite match.
